COVID-19 update for May 23: Here’s the latest on coronavirus in B.C.

To date, B.C. has identified 2,517 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Of those, 890 are in the Vancouver Coastal region, 1,244 are in the Fraser Health region, 127 are on Vancouver Island, 144 are in the Interior, and 62 are in the North.

1 p.m. – No PNE but you can still get the mini donuts

The Pacific National Exhibition may have been cancelled for this year, but you can still taste the flavour of the fair. At Playland, just off West Hastings Street in Vancouver, drivers can pick up a bag of mini donuts from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

11 a.m. – Federal government proposes expanding parliamentary meetings

The Liberals have tabled a proposal that would see expanded parliamentary meetings to discuss the government’s response to the COVID-19 crisis as well as a handful sittings over the summer.
