YouTube star Daniel Howell is set to get real about mental health for his upcoming book, This Night.

The internet star, who’s best known for being one half of Dan and Phil along with his best friend Phil Lester, has returned to social media with a bang as he announces the new project.

Daniel, who’s been open about his mental health for years, including in his light-hearted YouTube series Internet Support Group and his video Daniel and Depression, is set to work alongside psychologists for This Night.

Releasing a clip for the announcement, Dan is heard saying: ‘There’s a moment at the end of every day where the world falls away and you’re left alone with your thoughts. A reckoning.

‘When the things you’ve been pushing to the background come forward and demand your attention.

‘Mental health is something we all have, whether you know you’re going through a tough time, or feel like you’re fine, it’s always there. Invisible, but influencing what you feel, how you react.

‘Sometimes it can feel like a fog you’re powerless to navigate through. But that’s not true. You can be your own light.’

Finishing up the video, Daniel tells fans: ‘I can do it, and so can you. You will get through this night.’

The 29-year-old, who boasts a following of more than six million, wrote alongside the clip: ‘I’ve written a book about understanding your mental health – it’s deep it’s dark it’s personal it’ll make you laugh it’ll make you cry and it actually has profound professional advice that might completely change your life so please pre-order it thank you.’

Fans had a whole host of questions for the star, with him teasing that there are more projects down the line and that ‘there are plans’ for him to return to YouTube.
